Vermont Lawmakers Look To Legalize Teen ‘Sexting’ – wcbstv.com

Lawmakers there are considering a bill that would make it legal for teenagers 18 and under to exchange explicit photos and videos of themselves – an act that’s come to be known by teens as “sexting.”

Ok, I don’t believe that teens caught doing this should be registered offenders, that is simply ridiculous, but to make it legal? How exactly would the age groups be monitored? By dirty old city officials?

As someone with a daughter, there needs to be some form of risk for this activity when/if it gets past the education a parent is supposed to provide. Maybe some sort of “scared straight” program? Not sure, but blanket legality feels wrong. Course, maybe it wouldn’t be, maybe making it illegal will have the same effect the prohibition did, or weed does today.
